Following an FIA Off-Road Commission meeting, held at Paris earlier today, the calendar for the 2012 FIA European Rallycross Championship was announced.
New countries on the calendar, compared to 2011, are Hungary (Nyirád), Finland (Kouvola) and Germany (Buxtehude). There will be no FIA European Rallycross Championship events held in Portugal, Poland and the Czech Republic in 2012. All newcomers hosted an European event for the last time in 2010. The 2012 championship goes underway with a stand-alone event in England (Easter Bank Holiday weekend) and welcomes a new track at Dreux in France (also as a stand-alone event). However, at the time of writing, the Circuit de l'Ouest Parisien has still the approval of FIA's Circuit Commission pending (see news fvr/10/17/11). Germany is, upon their return, awarded with hosting the final round of the 2012 European series. The calendar for the 2012 FIA European Rallycross Championship looks as follows: 08.04.-09.04. - Lydden Hill Race Circuit - Wootton - England This calendar is subject to approval by the FIA World Motor Sport Council during their next meeting on December 7 at New Delhi |
